Kol Israel Holocaust Monument

Kol Israel began in 1959 with Cleveland survivors from the Holocaust/Shoah. 1961 they raised this monument in Zion Memorial Park Cemetery, Bedford Heights. It was a work of mercy. It is a place to remember and mourn the so many who did not have a respectful burial. On the Sunday between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur there is a memorial service, in which Kaddish is said.

Seventeen foot obelisk of French Creek granite is topped with Stars of David, on either side are  fourteen foot panels.

"...ashes of our brethren from the concentration camps..."
"For the dead and the living we must bear witness"
"I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the Messiah and though he may tarry i daily wait for his coming"
