It has been tradition for a dog to be at a firehouse. Years ago, the trucks were pulled by horses. Dalmatians, or coachman's dog, keep good company and pace with horses. Cleveland Fire Station 22 put a stone, and it looks like maybe a tree at one time, for their mascot.
